Friday Favorites: Puddle Jumping

These are a few of my favorite things:

The rainy season has officially returned, and Daniel and I have been enjoying going on rainy walks in the afternoons after nap and before it gets dark outside (a rapidly-narrowing window). I really love this time of year—even as it gets darker and colder—and Daniel also seems to prefer it to the warmth and brightness of the summer. Our walks have been truly lovely moments spent together: jumping in puddles, using umbrellas, and picking up treasures (leaves, pine cones...) to bring back home with us. These are definitely some of the moments I'll think back to when I remember my last months as a mother of one child.

I got to go to yoga class for the first time in a long while this week. I stopped my practice early on in my pregnancy due to nausea and fatigue, and then with changing schedules with preschool and also at the yoga studio, I just hadn't been able to go back in a while. Let me tell you: it felt amazing to be back on my mat again!

I've been getting better sleep the past several days, for which I am extremely grateful. I suspect that the darker evenings are helping my circadian rhythms to even out a bit, and I've adopted a new pillow strategy in bed which is helping me to stay more comfortable. Daniel also seems to have finally adjusted to the time change, which means all three of us are getting more hours of uninterrupted sleep. It feels so good!
