In addition to the linky, I'm taking this opportunity each week to write a little bit about my favorite moments from the past week. I hope you'll feel inspired to leave a comment telling me about your favorite thing(s) that happened this week, too!
These are a few of my favorite things:
Fall is definitely here, and I'm loving the weather! The leaves are dropping all around us and the ones still up in the trees are a gorgeous array of colors. Fall is my favorite season, and I've been particularly grateful this week that it's been dry enough to go out every day and walk around enjoying the fresh air and beautiful colors.
Daniel had his first day at his new preschool this week! For many reasons (though we really don't want to part from his current fabulous preschool teachers) we've decided to transition Daniel to a new school closer to home. He's attending some days at both schools through the end of October, and then he'll be at the new place exclusively starting in November. His first day was challenging in many ways, but there were also several encouraging moments throughout the morning. (See more photos from the morning on Instagram: focused on playing with dough and feeling overwhelmed on the playground.) I'm also feeling hopeful about the support services that may be available to us through this bigger school. Transitions are always tough for our family, but I'm trying to focus on looking ahead to the ways this new arrangement will be a good fit for our family in the long run.
Baby #2 has reached a new level of intrauterine activity this week. We're seeing movement from the outside now (this didn't happen until much later with Daniel) which, for whatever reason, I find completely hilarious. Baby has hir most active time of the day in the evening starting around 9PM (as I'm in bed trying to settle down for the day) and Jaymz and I have been spending some time each night watching my belly jerk and move around as we laugh together. Baby can now also kick me hard enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. I don't remember this happening at all with my first pregnancy, so this is a new experience for me. This kiddo is definitely a night owl at this point... and we'll see what kind of rhythms s/he has later!
