Friday Favorites: Beginning to Nest

These are a few of my favorite things:

As I've recently seen the midpoint of my pregnancy come and go, I've been acutely aware of the time ticking away until our new family member joins us... and I'm starting to nest. We moved across the city around this point in my pregnancy with Daniel, and I'm so glad we're not doing anything like that this time!

We've been living in our family's first house for about a year and a half now, and this week, we put our first pieces of (Daniel's) art up on the walls in the dining room! I haven't been able to get a photo of it yet, but there's something really homey and settling to me about putting personal things up on the walls of a living space. It's always taken us at least a year to get to that point after we move, and this time it feels even more special to be decorating: the first home we've owned, and the place where our second baby will be born just a few months from now.

I'm also feeling grateful to have the majority of the birth plans in place as of this week: in addition to our fabulous midwives (the same team who supported us through Daniel's birth), I'm excited to report that we have one friend who offered to be our birth photographer, and another who agreed to be a sibling doula ("Daniel doula") for Daniel. I'm so happy to know that we'll be well-supported during the labor and birth!
