A couple of weeks ago, Jaymz, Daniel, and I went out shopping to scour the clearance racks for some new clothes for Daniel. Partway through the trip, Daniel discovered an echo microphone under a rack of clothes, and he was immediately enthralled. He spent the rest of the shopping trip singing and entertaining us (and other fellow shoppers) as we walked through the store.
At one point, Daniel and I were waiting outside the dressing room for Jaymz (who was futilely trying to find a pair of jeans that fit him) and Daniel began singing the alphabet song. One of the store employees (who was standing next to us folding clothes) received a call on her walkie-talkie. She answered the person's question, but her sentence didn't make any sense, and she started to laugh. She radioed back to the person, apologizing, "I'm sorry. I'm just so distracted—there's this beautiful child here singing to me, and I can't even think straight!"
On our way to check out, I captured a quick video of the concert action:
After that, we pulled up to a register and the cashier immediately recognized Daniel. "Oh!" he said, "So you're the little singer I keep hearing about!"
Apparently the other woman had radioed to everyone in the store to tell them about Daniel's singing.
It was a fun shopping trip, indeed.
