Wordless Wednesday: Beach Vacation

Last week we took a little overnight road trip to the Oregon coast, stopping at the Tillamook cheese factory and the Newport aquarium along the way.
Learning about cheese

Sampling the cheese

Being the cheese

I was impressed with our trunk contents: mostly diapers
and food, with a half-empty bag for clothes

We stopped at a scenic overlook to stretch our legs.

This gull hung around...

...and Daniel chased him.
We woke up the next morning to this:

We took a walk down to the beach to experience the ocean as a family.

We drove to the aquarium next, just a few miles away.
Before going in, Daniel took a little nap in the car
while Jaymz and I ate a picnic lunch.
There were lots of cool things there, but it was fairly dark, so I didn't get many good photographs.
Fish on all sides: so much to look at!

This was the "please touch" portion of the aquarium. Fun!
We got back on the road in the late afternoon. This pink moon was huge and gorgeous. Too bad all I could get was this horribly grainy photo through the car window:

It was a fun and refreshing trip. I'm glad we finally made the time to take our first (just us) family vacation together!

  3. Hey, you went to Tillamook! It's so funny, because this is like an exact repeat of our family vacation from when Mikko was 20 months old. I'm glad you were able to get away and enjoy being just the three of you!

And I'm impressed with your trunk. :)
