This was an apple I put in the compost pile (whole...and yes, with the sticker still on it—oops!) because it had a bad mushy spot:
I looked out the back door the next day to see this little guy up in the neighbor's tree, snacking away! I'm glad to know the apple went to good use.

ReplyDeleteOh that is awesome! What were the chances of you catching the squirrel with the apple? And I wouldn't sweat the sticker. At least it was mostly paper, which is fine for compost in small or shredded quantities.
It amazes me just how much those little guys can heft. That apple has to be at least 1/3 of his body weight.

ReplyDeleteLove it. Our compost heap sees a lot of squirrel action, too, and lucky for us it's right outside the window near our changing table. Hungry squirrels have diverted many an 'I was still playing; I don't care if I've pooped' meltdown. :)
