We finally went to the gluten-free bakery (New Cascadia) this weekend and belatedly celebrated my half-birthday with some treats:
Margherita pizza, sourdough bread
German chocolate, carrot cake
Linked up at Wordless Wednesday at Hobo Mama and Natural Parents Network (where I contributed a photo for today's amazing collection of breastfeeding alternatives).
happy half birthday!! We celebrate the halves too! I saw your breastfeeding picture at NPN and have to say that you're an amazing woman to share so much!
Oh, and P.S. Thank you again for your picture on NPN! I also was impressed at the quantity. I think I want to donate again this next time but be better about pumping.
Yum! That's great that you have a GF bakery near you! I'm not sure I've ever seen one but hopefully they are out there around here, too.
We also celebrate half birthdays when we think of it (definitely for the kids, not us big folks yet, but I think we will from now on since we all like it so much!). I don't do the half-cake thing (though I love that!), we just do a special meal, some kind of dessert with candles, and if possible, the half-birthday person gets to pick something fun to do that day. I love special days and hope to create a lot more fun rituals and traditions with my girls in the coming years.
@Teresa & @Lauren: Thanks for your comments about my NPN photo. I never know what to say when people thank me or are impressed by my milk donation...but thank you very much. It's been great to be able to help out in that way.
@Kristin: That half cake photo is from Flickr, though I thought it was perfect for the half-birthday post. Glad to know we're not the only ones who celebrate them!

Those really do look like treats! Glad GF is so yummy, and that there's a whole bakery for it. You're making me hungry…
