Next, we tried the Didymos. My husband's math brain could understand the wrapping techniques better than mine could, so it took some coaching from him for me to get into using that one. I thought it would be my favorite right off the bat, but it took a little getting used to. Now I love it for days when we're going to be walking around a lot. Daniel feels secure and upright in it, and it doesn't stretch out and need to be readjusted much while wearing. It is a bit hot to wear on a warmer day, so I only wear a nursing tank under it most of the time.
I recently bought some cotton jersey fabric to make a stretchy wrap, but I haven't gotten to it yet (despite the simplicity and ease of the project). If you want to try wearing your baby but don't want to spend a lot of money on a wrap or other carrier, this is a great way to get started!
Just for fun, here are the top 10 things I love most about babywearing:
- I can eat(!) and do various household tasks while keeping my child close to me.
- Nursing while babywearing is an acquired skill, and a very valuable one!
- Strangers keep their hands to themselves when I'm wearing my baby.
- When nothing else works, taking a long walk while wearing my baby is guaranteed to put him to sleep.
- Carrying around the extra weight is a great way to get a little exercise.
- I don't have to navigate doorways (or stairs, the train, the farmer's market...) with a bulky stroller (and I don't have to lug my car seat all over the place, either).
- My baby can see and experience the world in a whole new way!
- I love feeling my baby snuggled in to me...
- ...and I know it's comforting to him, too.
- Partners and other family members can do it too!

You look beautiful Amy. I know this comment is an inarticulate gush but I'm your brother, I'm allowed. Love you all.
ReplyDeleteYour collection sounds like mine, sometimes I feel like a carrier hoarder but there's always a right one for the job.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are gorgeous! I'm envious of all those carriers! I agree with you that babywearing is great for having other people keep their hands away. "Sorry, I wouldn't want to wake her up" is the perfect excuse for not unloading your baby,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're loving the ring sling! I didn't get mine until about four or five months, and I think by then Elijah was too big to figure it out well... I'll save it for the next one, though. I am thinking that nursing in a ring sling is super easy with a tiny one, no? Great pics, too!
ReplyDelete(This is part of what happened at Pompei.) In the US building codes generally do not allow people to live too near to volcanoes that are known to erupt every now and then. The problem are volcanoes that have not erupted in over a century. In some instances scientists do not know when or even if such a volcano will erupt again and so small towns have developed around or near such.

Maintaining hair Human Hair Wigs always poses a dilemma for weave wearers. Putting too much importance on caring for weaves could lead to hair with thinner and less healthy ends while placing too much importance on caring for clip in hair extensions your natural locks could easily damage weaves. Although caring for your weaves is indeed important if you want to maintain a fuller and remy human hair stunning crown.
